New Year - What A Day!!

1st of January is a new day of the year 2010. I planned to go shopping at IKEA, Kuala Lumpur together with my hubby, my eldest brother, my sister, her two kids and of course not forgetting my little one as Chinese New Year is coming and I need to buy some storage boxes to keep all my stuff.

Early in the morning at 8am, my sister already reached my place together with my brother and her daughters. After having breakfast, we happily departed at 9am. After 1.5 hours driving at the KL highway, our car broke down.

An indian stopped his car and came to us to offer help. He said only need to spend RM100 to RM200 and takes about 1. 5 to 2 hours for repairing the car, after that we can continue with our journey. Not to disappoint every one and thinking that another hour to go we will be reaching our destination ready, so we agreed with him and towed the car to his work shop.

After reaching the place, hubby waited there alone and all of us went to nearest coffee shop to have some tea. After about an hour, hubby called to say that the indians took out all the car parts and wanted to charge him RM500 just for that without fixing our car's problem. Knowing that we were being cheated, we quickly phoned up my father and let him talk to all these people. After negotiation, the indian agreed that we pay him at RM150.

My sister called her hubby who's staying and working in KL at 11.30am to fetch us and continue our trip but my poor hubby have to stand under the hot sun, waiting for the car to be towed back to Malacca.

My brother-in-law reached at 12.35pm and we followed his car. It took us about another 1.5 hours to reach the place from Seremban to IKEA. I gave a call to my hubby and he told me that the car tower just arrived not long ago. Pity him that he had to withstand with the heat without food and drinks as there's no extra bottle of water in the car and I also forgot to let him drink some water first before I left.

It was really a bad day and bad experience for all of us especially to my hubby as he needs to spend more than a thousand dollars to repair the car. And from that day onwards, don't think we are going to trust any one anymore if touch wood the car break down half way again.
